Danish ambulance provider Falck negotiates contract in the US

City of San Diego plans to award emergency ambulance service contract to Danish ambulance provider Falck.

The Danish emergency ambulance provider Falck has been selected to enter into exclusive negotiations with the City of San Diego, California, to provide contracted 9-1-1 ambulance services for the City beginning in mid-2020.

“As home to many of the nation’s top hospitals, providers and healthcare innovators, San Diego offers a natural fit with Falck’s philosophy of providing state-of-the-art emergency prehospital care”, says Troy Hagen, CEO of Falck California, according to a press release.

Falck has a proven history of working closely with cities and counties to smoothly transition EMS operations and improve system performance. The Danish ambulance provider also serves parts of Los Angeles and Orange Counties with its subsidiary Care Ambulance Services, and has separate contracts in Oregon, Washington, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Colorado, Maryland and Michigan.

The contract negotiations are expected to be completed in the beginning of January 2020.
