An American delegation with decision-makers and representatives from some of the largest providers of elder care in the US, visited Aalborg, Denmark, on January 19, 2016. The aim of the visit was to find inspiration and learn from Danish expertise within elder care.
The delegates visited The Nursing Home of the Future to learn more about innovative assisted living technologies, which improve the opportunity for elderly citizens to live independently. The delegates were also introduced to Rehabiliteringscenter Aalborg, which offers intensive rehabilitation programs to citizens with severe disabilities. In the afternoon, the delegates had a site visit to Centre for Assisted Living Technology, which included an introduction to the innovative environment of a so-called living lab.
The delegation visit was organized by the Trade Council at the Consulate General of Denmark in New York with the objective to strengthen knowledge sharing between Denmark and the US within the field of elder care, and support the dissemination of Danish assisted living technology in the US.
