The delegates were impressed by the national e-health portal, sundhed.dk, which enables patients to access their personal health data as well as healthcare professionals to find their patients’ health information. They also had the opportunity to visit New Hospital Hvidovre, one of the Super Hospital projects in the Copenhagen area. The project consists of 30,000 square meters of new buildings containing a common emergency department, a new department for cardiology and a new mother and child center with children's ward, neonatal and obstetrics services.
During their visit to the Emergency Medical Services Copenhagen, the delegates learned about the organization of the Capital Region’s emergency standby and had the opportunity to see a modern ambulance provided by the Danish company Falck. The ambulances’ high-tech equipment allows real-time communication with the hospital waiting for the patient and the access of the patient’s electronic health record via built-in screens.
The visit was rounded off by a tour of the new patient hotel in Rigshospitalet and a presentation of an innovative project called "Chemo at Home", the Clinic of Hematology’s patient-centered concept for high-intensity home treatment of leukemia patients without the presence of healthcare staff.
