Royal Commissioners from Australia explore Danish elderly care
On January 24, 2020, Royal Commisioners for the Royal Commision into Aged Care Quality and Safety in Australia visited Denmark to gain insight into Danish elderly care.
The delegation started at The Danish Ministry of Health with an introduction to The Ministry, focusing on elderly care, overall challenges, and future developments in the primary care sector.
Afterwards, the delegates were introduced to the health and care administration at the Municipality of Copenhagen, which is responsible for all healthcare initiatives targeted citizens in Copenhagen. Here, the Australian visitors learned about social inequalities in health, chronical diseases, dementia initiatives, and cooperation between GPs and hospitals.
The visit was organized and hosted by Healthcare DENMARK. For more information about this visit, please contact Chief Consultant Anne Beck Henriksen.
