The congress takes place in Aarhus, Denmark, on September 7–9, 2021, and gathers 2500 participants from more than 60 countries. The aim of the World Congress 2021 is to be a global platform for the professional and political agendas connected to rehabilitation. Under the vision of "Moving Societies", rehabilitation is presented from five perspectives: the individual, the academic/professional, research, policy, and society perspectives.
As such, the congress will be a strong inspiration for all participants: to meet with global colleagues from your own profession, society, NGOs, and with up front representatives from rehab specialists. The congress invites all stakeholders to share their experiences within specialized themes like neurorehabilitation, primary health and rehab, employment initiatives, physical training, and community integration.
By participating in the congress, you can look forward to three days with a vibrant mix of thought-provoking keynote sessions featuring international expert speakers on the following topics:
- Professionalizing Rehabilitation as a Discipline of Knowledge
- Rehabilitation as a Life-Long Health Strategy
- The Many Goals of Rehabilitation
- Life Span and Rehabilitation
- Significant Rehabilitation Footprints within Policy Making
- Innovative Technologies in Rehabilitation

Furthermore, the congress is organized as an integrated event combining the conference program with an exhibition where innovative companies will present their products and services. This means that conference participants can explore exhibited products and services that relate to the topics discussed in the sessions.
The congress will take place at two venues in the city of Aarhus. One of the congress venues is the Aarhus Congress Center, situated in the heart of Aarhus city. The other congress venue is the Cultural Production Center Godsbanen, which is a creative powerhouse in the new city district of Aarhus; Aarhus K.
