Delegation from Singapore inspired by Danish prevention and healthcare

Innovative solutions and prevention in Danish healthcare were in focus when a delegation from Civil Service College Singapore visited Copenhagen, Denmark, on August 27, 2019.

The visit started with an introduction to the Danish healthcare system followed by a discussion of the Danish Health Authority’s work focussing on promotion and prevention such as the Health Promotion Packages and rehabilitation for chronic diseases. Hereafter, the Danish company, Wavecare, presented an innovative audiovisual stimulation solution that creates a healing and treating hospital environment.

Before lunch, the delegation discussed tobacco prevention among children and young adults in Denmark. The smoking prevention program called “X:IT” were highlighted to demonstrate how this is possible.

Afterwards, the delegation learned about the impact of Cities Changing Diabetes by Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, which offers treatment for all kinds of diabetes and makes efforts to ensure improvement and implementation of measures to detect diabetes at an early stage.

The visit was organized and hosted by Healthcare DENMARK. For more information about this visit, please contact Deputy Director Anne Smetana.
