On March 7-9, 2017, a delegation of decision makers and directors from nursing homes all over France visited Copenhagen, Denmark, to experience the Danish elder care strategies as well as explore innovative assisted living technologies implemented in Danish nursing homes.
The delegates started their trip by visiting Center for Assisted Living Technologies at Local Government Denmark for an introduction to municipal implementation of e-health technologies and documentation of assisted living technology.
During their visit to Copenhagen, the delegates visited two nursing homes, the Dementia Center Pilehuset and Langgadehus Nursing Home, to experience innovative assisted living technologies in practice. A visit to the Senior Activity Center in the city of Dragør demonstrated to the French delegation how Denmark actively works with engaging and activating senior citizens in the local community. Part of the busy program was also a visit to Copenhagen Living Lab, which is designed as a real apartment and offers a real-life test environment for developers and end-users in order to ensure that the solutions are usable and enable the elderly citizens to live more independently.
In addition, the program also included meetings with and presentations by the innovative Danish assisted living companies ICURA, Sekoia, and Vendlet, as well as an introduction to the volunteer organization Cycling Without Age.
