On Tuesday November 19, during WHINN (Week of Health and INNovation), you have the opportunity to combine participation in WHINN events with an exclusive delegation visit organized by Healthcare DENMARK. By joining this delegation visit, you will get access to otherwise off-limits areas and people within both the public and private sectors and experience innovative healthcare solutions in practice.
For the delegation visit on November 19, Healthcare DENMARK has put together a tentative program that focuses on Danish hospital construction, innovation, prevention, and Emergency Medical Services. The program includes a site visit to Odense University Hospital with an overall introduction to the hospital’s approach to innovation, prevention and acute care. After the general introduction, participants can choose between two tracks in the program. They can choose either to visit the shared emergency department to learn more about the acute care facilities of the future, or to get insight into the construction process of the New Odense University Hospital as well as the Steno Diabetes Center Odense. Rounding off the program is a site visit to SDU – University of Southern Denmark for an introduction to the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics. The visit includes a guided tour of the department and the facilities.
You can find the tentative program in detail here.
Previous years, Healthcare DENMARK has organized successful delegation visits during WHINN conferences. Participants have been very happy with the opportunity to combine participation in WHINN events with an exclusive delegation program and relevant site visits. The WHINN event gives the participants an opportunity to think beyond their organizational constraints and share international experiences and learning from other systems. Previous participants from the Innovation Agency formerly the North West Coast Academic Health Science Network (NWC AHSN) have expressed their appreciation with the overall organization of their delegation visit and the relevancy of the site visits. “We were very impressed by the overall organization, the caliber of the people we met, and their willingness to engage, share their learning and help us develop our thoughts,” they said.
The delegation visit during this year’s WHINN conference is scheduled to take place only on November 19 and due to limited availability, we recommend that you sign up as soon as possible and no later than September 2, 2019.
