Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will open new acute hospital in Slagelse, Denmark.

The establishment of Slagelse Hospital as one of Region Zealand’s four emergency hospitals will be finalized on April 17, 2018, when the new construction is officially inaugurated.

The construction is one of Denmark's largest public-private partnerships, and the latest extension consists of a maternity ward, paediatrics ward and three floors for medical patients, with a total of 180 private wards.

The large number of private wards enables the hospital to take in more patients than previously and there will also be a whole new setting with the purpose to increase parental involvement when a child is hospitalized.

At the opening of the hospital, the Chairman of Region Zealand and the Director of Slagelse Hospital will welcome the attending guests followed by an official opening of the hospital by HRH Crown Princess Mary, who will receive an exclusive guided tour of the building afterwards to experience the new facilities.
