New guide makes it easier for people with dementia to exercise

Physical activity is good for everyone including people with dementia. The Danish Health Authority has published a training guide that makes it easier to support people with dementia in being physically active.

The Danish Health Authority has published a guide to physical exercise and activity for people with dementia, which will help to provide more and better offers of physical training and activity for people with mild to severe dementia.

People with dementia often need a little help to become physically active. In this context, both municipal staff, relatives, volunteers and associations can help with advice and support. Thus, the new training guide is designed for users with very different needs and provides inspiration for exercises and tips to plan and assist citizens with dementia both before and during physical activity.

The training guide is electronic and suitable for use on both computer, tablet and smartphone.
